Edition
The flagship product, AVG Network Edition, provides network anti-virus
protection and management for up to 500 users. By deploying additional
database servers it is possible to extend AVG support to 1000s of users. An
important feature is the AVGADMIN central administration tool which
supports the remote management of all workstations and file servers on the
network. At the heart of the AVG solution is the AVG DataCenter, a database
containing all configuration and task settings. The system is kept updated
automatically at regular intervals by Akamai\\\'s worldwide network of
15,000 high speed servers. In addition, priority updates are issued
whenever a major new virus is detected on the Internet. AVG Network Edition
comes with a two year licence. The number of licences is determined by the
total of network workstations and file servers combined.
AVG Professional
AVG Professional Single Edition provides anti-virus protection on a single
client PC or workstation. A combination of detection methods (heuristic
analysis, generic detection, scanning and integrity checking) ensure
customers receive the maximum possible protection. In addition, users have
a choice of basic or advanced interfaces - the latter allows the user to
define new tests. This edition comes with automatic email scanning, high
speed updates, and 24/7/365 technical support. It is available in seven
languages.
AVG SoHo
This edition is designed for home or small business networks that have no
requirement for a centralised administration and updating capability.
Updates are requested over the Internet, usually via a broadband
connection. AVG Professional Single Edition and AVG SoHo Edition are
suitable for the following platforms: Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, XP and
Linux i386.
AVG Email Server
Protects Microsoft Exchange, Lotus and Kerio email servers from virus
infection.
AVG File Server
Provides antivirus protection for Microsoft Windows NT4/2000/2003 and Linux
file servers. The Resident Shield (on-access scanner) is easy on system
resources while ensuring maximum reliability, making it ideal for
protecting much more than just thin client networks.
AVG for Linux Email Servers
The email server edition has the same capabilities as AVG for Linux with
the additional ability to connect the scanning engine to Linux email
servers.
